Holmes-made Family Fudge

There is an old family story that our family once had a famous brand toffee recipe. This is our family fudge recipe.

Ingredients

  • 100g / 4 oz margarine / butter
  • 400g / 14 oz sugar
  • 2 dessertspoons Golden Syrup
  • 6 large dessertspoons Condensed milk

Method

  • Grease a square baking tin (7 or 9 inch square)
  • Melt margarine in large pan over low heat
  • Add sugar and syrup and bring to boil slowly
  • Add condensed milk and boil to soft boil stage (when dropped in water forms a soft ball – or use toffee thermometer).
  • Remove pan from heat and stir till stiff and creamy
  • Pour into tin and cool.
  • When cold cut into squares
